Shah Alam\u2019s beloved Perpustakaan Raja Tun Uda (PRTU) is expanding its horizons with the addition of a new wing, the Creative Learning Library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This innovative extension, spanning an impressive 105,000 square feet, is set to become a beacon of inclusive, interactive and holistic learning for the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Construction began in October 2023 and is projected to complete by September 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new wing is designed to offer a comprehensive learning experience that caters to all ages and abilities, from young children to senior citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This wing offers a dynamic space that emphasizes non-book elements, including sensory aspects tailored for children with special needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The goal is to create an environment where everyone can thrive and explore their interests in unique and engaging ways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new development consists of these main components: the Creative Learning Library, the Royal Gallery and Royal Book Collection, an F&B block, a floating caf\u00e9 at the pump house, and a new book cafe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This gallery will occupy two floors, one dedicated to the Royal Books Collection and the other to a Royal Gallery. Both will highlight books and collections of Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah ibni Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, the Selangor ruler.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The idea behind showcasing these royal book collections is to grant the public access to rare and valuable literary treasures, fostering a deeper appreciation for the nation\u2019s heritage and history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will serve as valuable resources for students, researchers and history enthusiasts, offering access to rare books and temporary exhibitions that inspire learning and discovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These floors will also contain a Menteri Besar Gallery, Research & Development Centre and a temporary exhibition space that can accommodate up to 750 people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Understanding that learning can be a hunger-inducing activity, a new F&B block will be constructed to serve the needs of patrons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
