About Hans Christian Andersen Award

The Hans Christian Andersen Award is the highest international honour in children’s literature, recognising authors and illustrators whose work has made a lasting contribution to generations of young readers.

Presented biennially by the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY), the award celebrates creativity, imagination and the enduring power of storytelling.

In 2026, the Selangor Public Library Corporation (PPAS) is honoured to host the Hans Christian Andersen Awards Experience, introducing this internationally acclaimed exhibition to Malaysia and welcoming readers, educators, librarians and families from around the world.
