The Multimedia Service started at the Raja Tun Uda Library, Shah Alam in 1999 as an initiative of the Computer/Multimedia Division (now known as the Information Technology Division). It aims to bridge the digital gap among the people of Selangor. This service is not only available at the head office but also offered at several library branches.

There are 14 computers on each floor consisting of iMac computers with the MAC OS operating system and 9 Windows-based computers for the choice of users at level G to level 4.
The library is also equipped with free wifi facilities with a speed of 100Mbps.

Multimedia Use Regulations :

Customers who use this service center must record their name to the staff on duty.

The minimum usage time given to each customer is 30 minutes (depending on availability)

The payment rates are as follows:

Internet usage:
Half an hour - RM0.50/person -
Printing:
Black & White - RM0.20/piece
Colour (half page) - RM 0.50/sheet
Colour (full) - RM 1.00/piece -
Scanner Machine:
One Scan (Maximum 20 Pages) - RM 0.10/page -
Plug Point:
One plug - RM1.00/day
- The use of extension wire is not allowed.
- The use of CD-ROMs (if available) is free but customers must write down their names and request which CD-ROMs they want to use according to the existing collection.
- Customers are allowed to use 1 computer for one person only.
- Users must not open obscene websites and others that violate the laws of the authorities.
- No computer games are allowed.
- Make sure external hard disk/pen-drive which is to be used is scanned first to make sure there are no viruses.
- Customers must not make noise that disturbs other customers and things that are suspicious to the library. If this happens, the library reserves the right to ask customers to leave the multimedia room immediately.
